The Voluntary Pre-kindergarten Program (VPK) is a FREE program to prepare Florida's children for kindergarten and develop the skills they need to become good readers and successful students. VPK includes standards for literacy skills, strict accountability, appropriate curricula, substantial instruction periods, manageable class sizes and qualified instructors.
Every child in Florida who is four by September 1st of that year is entitled to free VPK. Parents have the option of enrolling their child in a part time school-year program that consists of 540 instructional hours or a full time summer program, consisting of 300 instructional hours. The school-year program is a part time, four hour a day program and typically follows the school district calendar. The summer program is a full time, 10 hour day that runs five days a week for five weeks throughout the summer. We offer a wrap around program for extended hours at a reduced rate for the school year program.
